Wastewater treatment after flue gas scrubbing: purify, evaporate, recover reusable materials.

After multi-stage purification, the effluent from flue gas scrubbing can safely be discharged into sewer systems. Another possibility is to evaporate the water so as to concentrate its dissolved substances sufficiently that they can be reused as industrial salts. The residual salts generated as by-product are landfilled. When a spray drier is used, the neutralized wastewater evaporates in the hot flue gas stream to form a solid residue.
Depending on the economic situation in terms of additional recycling, our processes can also be used to recover useful materials such as gypsum and hydrochloric acid from the scrubbing water.
